Breathe Better, Move Better, Feel Better
I'm a physical therapist who is passionate about helping everyday people figure out why their body hurts and what is limiting them from moving the way they want to. I especially love assisting women through healing from pregnancy & childbirth. I treat pain/pressure in the pelvic floor, prolapse, bladder urgency, urinary incontinence, painful sex, constipation, abdominal pain (from IBS and similar issues), fecal incontinence, diastasis recti, other pain/discomforts related to pregnancy, giving birth or breastfeeding, and pain anywhere else in the pelvis, hips, or the rest of the body. Remember that the postpartum period lasts the rest of your life and if you have issues that began or worsened with pregnancy/childbirth, I can help!
My approach allows me to identify the root cause of your issues because I assess and treat the body as a whole, including the pelvic floor. My process is to assess your movements, locate the restrictions in your body, and then set up a plan of care that is tailored to you. An important step in this process is regulating your nervous system. This helps the body know it is safe to adapt to a new pattern of moving. This is especially true for my patients with a trauma history and/or high anxiety.
The treatment process will address body awareness, hands-on release-work, training proper coordination of the body (beginning with breath work), and then building strength/power in a step-wise progression until we meet your goals.
I have training through the Institute for Birth Healing (for pregnancy/postpartum care), Herman&Wallace (for pelvic floor rehab), NAIOMT (for manual therapy), ProSport Academy (for movement pattern re-training), and Polestar Pilates.
I personally suffered with chronic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction for years (including before giving birth). My journey to healing (which is ongoing) has involved many different physical therapists, mental/emotional therapists, massage therapists, yoga, Pilates, meditation, breathing techniques, and more. It is because of my personal experiences and those of my patients that I know the best path to full recovery incorporates a whole-person approach. This takes into account not only the muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and joints of a person's body, but also their personality, nervous system, mental/emotional state, history of trauma, nutrition, sleep, job, etc. I will get to know who YOU are and create an individualized plan WITH YOU to aid you on the road to recovery.
I provide 1 on 1 outpatient orthopedic and pelvic health treatment in a private practice setting. My services are considered "out of network" with all insurance companies; however, my prices are competitive. You will only be working with a physical therapist (me) for the entirety of your rehab plan. This means that your care will not be passed off to a technician. You will find that you are receiving exceptional treatment that has significantly more value than what you can get inside the "insurance model." You will also need far less appointments which will result in saving you money in the end. I charge $95 for a 1 hour session.
If you are ready to start your road to healing, request an appointment today! I also offer a free phone consultation to see if PT is what you need. This can be a scheduled or spontaneous call!
What makes MY life meaningful is to spend it with my husband Griffin, and our daughter, Wren. We enjoy walking, hiking, camping, rock climbing, skiing, and road-tripping.
